  • At Lilla Movement Studio, we offer a calm, nurturing and boutique approach to dance education, where every child is supported to feel confident, capable, and truly seen.

With nearly 30 years of teaching experience, Founder and Director Naomi leads the studio with a thoughtful and highly experienced approach. As Lilla grows, all teachers are carefully guided to deliver the same level of care, consistency, and professionalism that defines the studio.

Our focus extends beyond dance technique — we support confidence, coordination, creativity, and a genuine love of movement in a warm and inclusive environment.

  • We offer a thoughtfully curated range of preschool and junior classes designed to nurture confidence, creativity, and a love of movement.

Preschool classes include Groovy Gumnuts, Creative Ballet, Dance, Tap, and Hip Hop, providing a playful and engaging introduction to movement.

Our junior programs include Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, and Breakdancing, supporting skill development while encouraging individuality and self-expression.

Breakdancing is also offered for junior through to high school students, creating a dynamic and inclusive space for older dancers.

We also offer homeschool groups, specialised workshops, and beautifully styled birthday parties, including studio hire or tailored themed experiences.

  • Children can begin from as young as 18 months in our Groovy Gumnuts classes. Each program is carefully designed to suit developmental stages, ensuring children feel confident and supported from their very first class.

  • Yes — we encourage trial classes so your child can feel comfortable, settled, and excited before committing.

  • Comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement is perfect to begin with. As your child settles into classes, we can guide you on appropriate dance wear. Uniforms are available for purchase at Reception during staffed hours.

  • To help children settle confidently and engage fully, we encourage parents to allow their child to participate independently, guided by their teacher. In our experience, this supports focus, builds confidence, and helps children feel secure within the class environment.

We understand that every child is different, and our team will gently support each child as they settle in at their own pace.

Please note: In our Groovy Gumnuts classes (18 months–3 years), parents and caregivers actively participate alongside their child, creating a shared and nurturing introduction to movement.

A comfortable waiting area is available for parents, and for those who prefer, there is also a lovely walking track at the end of Simms Road — a perfect opportunity to enjoy some quiet time while your child is in class.

  • We understand that starting something new can feel like a big step — for both children and parents. At Lilla Movement Studio, we take great care to ensure every child feels safe, supported, and comfortable from the moment they arrive.

Your child will be gently welcomed into the space and guided through a class that balances structure, creativity, and play. Our approach is calm and nurturing, allowing children to settle in at their own pace while building confidence and connection.

Classes are thoughtfully designed to support coordination, listening skills, imagination, and a love of movement — all within a positive and encouraging environment.

There is no pressure for perfection — just an opportunity for your child to explore, enjoy, and grow.
